1. What Pathways is
Pathways is a career guide for students in India, their parents and their teachers. It is operated by Pathways and is run by AI from end to end: the guide, the route planner, the checker and the care agent are all AI. There are no human counsellors.
By creating a space you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian agrees for you.
2. This is a pilot
- Everything in the pilot is free. Nobody is asked for payment details, and nothing can be charged.
- Things will change, and some things will break. Please tell the care agent when they do. That is what the pilot is for.
- There are daily limits on AI features so that the pilot stays free for everyone. The app tells you when you reach one.
- If the pilot ever has to close, the app will say so at least 30 days ahead, so that you can save your plans.
3. Who may use it
- Students aged 18 or older can start on their own.
- Students aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian to agree first, with a family code or on the student's device.
- Children under 13 cannot use Pathways yet.
- Parents and guardians must be 18 or older and must be the parent or legal guardian of any child they add.
- Educators must be 18 or older, must work with the students they invite, and must follow their school's rules. Do not ask students to type personal details, and do not make joining a condition of anything. Students under 18 need their own parent's consent before they join a class.
Please give true answers about your age and role. We may close a space that was opened with false ones.
4. What the AI can and cannot do
- Pathways gives guidance to help you think and plan. It is not a guarantee of admission, a scholarship, a job or a salary.
- AI can be wrong or out of date. Exam names, dates, eligibility, fees, cut-offs and pay change every year. Always confirm them on the official sites that the app lists before you act.
- Costs and pay are shown as wide bands on purpose. Fit scores describe how well a career matches your answers today. They are not a prediction.
- Pathways is not a doctor, a lawyer, a therapist or a financial adviser. The course-cost planner is a plain calculator and is general information, not financial advice.
- The decision always stays with the student and the family.
5. Safety
Pathways is not an emergency service and nobody is watching the conversations. If you or someone you know is in danger, call 112. If you feel very low, Tele-MANAS on 14416 is free and open day and night, in many Indian languages. Children can call the Child Helpline on 1098. Please also talk to an adult you trust.
Use the Report button under any AI answer that seems wrong, unkind or inappropriate.
6. Your space and your codes
- A space is opened with your Google account. While Google sign-in is not switched on, and for spaces made before 23 September 2026, it is opened with a recovery code. Keep a recovery code safe and never share it, or a sign-in code, with anyone, including the care agent.
- We store only a one-way scramble of a recovery code, so nobody at Pathways can read it or reset it. If you lose it and are signed out everywhere, the space cannot be recovered and you will need to start again. Attaching a Google account under Me avoids this.
- Family codes and class codes are meant to be shared, but only with the people they are for.
- You can delete your space at any time under Me.
7. Fair use
Please do not:
- use Pathways to cheat in an exam or an assignment, or to produce anything harmful, hateful, sexual or unlawful;
- type other people's personal details into a chat;
- pretend to be someone else, or open spaces that are not real in order to earn invitations;
- try to break, overload, scrape or copy the service, or get around its limits;
- sell access to Pathways or present its guidance as your own professional counselling.
We may limit or close a space that does these things.
8. Your content and ours
What you type stays yours. You allow us to process it only to run the service for you, as the privacy notice describes. If you send feedback or an idea, we may use it to improve Pathways without owing you anything.
The career dataset, the questions, the text and the design belong to Pathways. You may use them for your own planning, and teachers may use them with their own classes. Please do not republish them.
9. Prices after the pilot
- The planned prices are on the pricing section of the site: Free, Plus for a whole family, and Schools. Prices do not include GST.
- Nothing will be charged unless you choose a paid plan at a checkout that shows the full amount, with tax, before you pay.
- Families who join during the pilot get their first year of Plus free.
- Invitations: when a family you invited finishes discovery, both families earn two months of Plus. One space can earn up to 24 months. The months have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and may be removed if invitations were not real.
10. Partners
Adults who introduce families to Pathways can apply to the partner program, which has its own rules. Pathways pays its partners. A college or coaching institute may pay for its own students' Plus, but no institute, college, coaching brand or lender ever pays to be recommended, ranked or shown to anyone, Pathways takes no money from advertisers, and a partner's link never changes what the guide recommends.
11. Our responsibility to you
We will run Pathways with reasonable care. It is provided as it is during the pilot, and we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made or losses suffered by relying on guidance from the app without checking official sources.
Nothing in these terms takes away any right that the consumer protection law of your country gives you, and nothing limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited.
12. If something goes wrong
Tell the care agent, or use the request form. Complaints are passed to the owner, acknowledged within 7 days and answered within 30.
13. Changes to these terms
These are version 1.0 of the pilot terms, in effect from 19 September 2026. If we change them in a way that matters, the app will tell you before the change takes effect. New terms will be published before any paid plan opens.
